PEDP Annual Scholarship Appeal

Dear PEDP Families, Alumni and Friends,

The Peirce Extended Day Program has been enriching the lives of children in our community for over 40 years by providing our families with exceptional, creative and reliable before and afterschool care. We are so fortunate to be able to entrust our children’s well-being to such a committed and caring group of professionals.

PEDP continues to offer an engaging and vibrant program in which our children thrive, with Explorer and Adventurer trips, skiing and tennis programs to the ever-popular annual musical performance in the spring.  All of the children in our program enjoy participating in these activities, and our collective commitment to the PEDP Scholarship Program helps make it possible to ensure that all can afford to do so.

This school year, with the support of PEDP families like your own and help from the greater Newton community, we were able to provide nearly $35,000 in scholarships so 14 children in the Peirce community could attend our program. While this is a commendable achievement, the contributions secured through Newton community funding decreased significantly by nearly 70%.   This deficit is a direct result of the decrease in grants available and the increase in competition for those funds.

In this climate of global change and uncertainty, we anticipate a rise in scholarship requests in the future.   We are appealing to you to make a difference in the lives of these children and make a donation to the PEDP Scholarship Fund so that no child is left out.  All donations will ensure that the children of working families with financial hardships can continue to participate in PEDP and the activities that make it special.

Please consider making a tax-deductible contribution to support our neighbors, our children’s classmates, and our friends for whom PEDP is an essential part of the workday.
