It’s hard to believe it is December and we are in the last month of 2024! Is this on the way? Skiers hope so!
Special Events
Speaking of December, the Craft Fair is coming! The kids at PEDP were busy crafting all of November in preparation. As usual, we have quite the array of wonderful items for purchase. Students, their families, and the community are invited to come shop on Wednesday December 4th and Thursday December 5th from 1:30-5:00 P.M. We hope you (or another adult) will come shop with your child if that is not their regularly scheduled day. Children who regularly attend on the above days should bring money with them. Most items range from $1.00-$6.00. Gift wrapping is 50 cents per gift. There are also baked items and a raffle. It is a good idea to discuss and write a list with your child of who they will shop for and how many gifts to buy. Most bring around $25-$35 but the amount is an individual decision for each family.
*Please make sure that your child’s money is in a wallet, purse, or envelope with their name. Smaller bills are helpful as we need to be able to make change if necessary. Also, have them bring a sturdy shopping bag with their name on it. We are looking forward to another fun and successful fair. Proceeds will be donated to the World Central Kitchen.
Staffing
In other news, November brought the addition of 3 more wonderful staff: Mr. Olivier in the Sharks, Ms. Skylar as a float teacher, and Ms. Madison with the Barracudas. They have all had a great rapport with the children and we hope you will give them a warm welcome!
Field Trips
The Barracudas had a great time at the EcoTarium. The favorite exhibit continues to be The Arctic Next Door and the chamber they went in to feel 78mph winds as felt on top of Mount Washington.
Curriculum Theme
The theme for December is Cultures of the World. Our teachers are busy preparing for this wonderful global theme of diversity with projects, food, music, crafts, etc. We hope they will be enriched by knowing more about our neighbors on this planet.
Classes
Skiing and snowboarding start next month on Wednesdays. If your child has signed up, please have them come prepared with proper attire and equipment. We look forward to a fantastic time.
Fundraising
Annual Giving Fund – it is not too late to donate! Please help us reach our goal.
Calendar
Program Closings:
December 23rd-January 1st (December Recess)
Reminders
We are in the season of colder weather. Please remember to send your children with hats and mittens or gloves. They will not be able to participate in outside activities if they do not have the proper attire.
That covers our news for December. We look forward to a fun and festive month!
Warm regards,
Ms. Yvonne
