Hello PEDP Families, and happy May!!
April has been a blast as the weather gets warmer, and we are able to spend more time outside! Last month was our Rainforest theme, and we built classic baking soda volcanoes, rainforest coloring pages, rainforests in a jar, and even built our own thermometers! Besides our normal curriculum theme, PEDP camp was open during the vacation week, and we had a blast!
We wanted to share a couple staffing updates, as there have been a few changes lately. Courtney’s last day was this month, and we are so sad to see her go! 🙁 Mr. Jacob, and Ms. Shira are both moving on from PEDP, their last days are today. We are very thankful for all of their help this year, and wish them all the best!
With Courtney’s departure, the LT has been diligently interviewing candidates to take over the position of Minnow Coordinator. We’ll share more details soon!
Looking ahead to this Month, (and today!)
Trivia Night is TONIGHT!! Are you signed up? If so, ARE YOU READY??? This is going to be an excellent night to get out and let loose, while also immensely helping out the program! We thank all the families that have decided to attend this year!
Our curriculum theme for May is Paper! While it may seem simple at first glance, what can’t you do with paper?! The possibilities are endless! Origami, Quilling, pop-out-books, paper puppets, making paper from scratch… Our EDP Teachers are SPILLING with awesome ideas, (in no small part to Miss Joanne’s inspiring project repertoire!)
Each group will be going out on a field trip on the Early Release Thursday, May 7th. Minnows are getting out into nature at Blue Hills, and hoping to catch a glimpse of their famous otters. Barracudas are embarking on a relaxing cruise on Boston’s Swan Boats. Sharks will be getting avant-garde while visiting the DeCordova Sculpture Park for some artsy fun, and a nice picnic! If your child attends the Early release Thursday, and you have yet to confirm your field trip plans, please do so by next Tuesday! The link to the Parent Portal is below.
