The air has changed and so have the leaves, a sure sign that fall is here!
PEDP NovWe’re excited to welcome Yvonne Emery, Karen Cullen, Carol Borges, and Isabella Ayalew to our PEDP team! Yvonne will be working with the Sharks on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Karen joins the Barracudas Tuesday – Friday and will help in the Minnows on Monday. Carol will work with the Sharks Wednesday and Thursdays and float between all programs on Tuesdays. Isabella will float on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Please introduce yourselves when you see them and check out our website, peirceedp.com, to learn more about our new staff.
After a discussion with PEDP’s Leadership Team (the three coordinators and Kathy) we have decided to make a switch. As of Monday, October 30th, Jamie will take over as the Barracuda coordinator and Joanne will be the Shark coordinator. We are confident the change will be smooth sailing without many ripples.
CURRICULUM THEME
We enjoyed the “Tree” theme this month. We’ve created paintings of trees, made leaf bowls, taken nature walks to identify the many trees in the neighborhood and even made trees from paper lunch bags.
November’s theme is “Crafting for the Fair”. This month we will be creating crafts for our Craft Fair in December. The kids will get to go shopping to purchase items for gifts or for themselves. This fun, annual event also serves as a community service project for our Program. Proceeds from the Craft Fair will be donated to the Northeast Animal Shelter. More information about the Craft Fair and the shelter will be sent later this month.
CLUBS
The Minnows had a great time in October doing clubs. They had fun being spies with Courtney, and making flip books with Laurie, pot holders with Lula, and gimp key chains with Deb B. The Barracudas and Sharks will have clubs later in the year.

REMINDER
The seasons are changing, and cooler weather will soon be upon us. As the temperature goes down children will need warm jackets to go outside. Hats and gloves will be needed when the “feels like” temperature is below 40º. Consider putting a spare hat and pair of gloves in your child’s backpack. We New Englanders know the weather can change in a matter of hours!
