Hello and “happy” winter, PEDP Families ❄️
What a chilly month it’s been! With much more cold on the way… thankfully PEDP has got you and your kids covered, indoors, warm, and having fun! Last month we got out while we could, and of course every Wednesday our skiers were out on the mountain making the most of the weather. For Fairy and Folktales month, our teachers helped the kids put on shadow puppet shows, make paper dragons, and even grow their own beanstalks!
Though February is short, we’ve packed it full of fun and engaging activities for the kiddos! Our curriculum theme is CINEMA! The kids will learn all about the classics, the modern trendsetters, and the magic of movies, with a plethora of fun activities crafted by our dedicated PEDP teachers!
February 5th, during the early release Thursday, the Sharks are going on a field trip to Activate Games in Boston! They will have a bunch of indoor fun with mind puzzles and physical challenges.
While the Sharks are away, the Minnows and Barracudas will stay behind for a special event where they will do activities all about Japan! Mr. Jacob will teach them common words and phrases in Japanese, and there will be an intense trivia game centered around Japanese facts, along with a bunch of other crafts and activities!
Our parent Conferences are still underway. If you have not yet signed up for a time slot, this is a great opportunity to check in with a PEDP teacher about how your child is doing in our program. Link below:
Starting February 17th, and for the rest of the week, our Winter Vacation Program will be taking place! Below is our itinerary for the week, so if you are interested in signing your child(ren) up for the week, or just for a day or two, you will know what’s going on each day, (hint, there’s some really great stuff going on!). The sign up link is below.
Search events and note that each of the four days is its own event, so if you want all 4 days, you need to sign up for each one of them. Fees are $85-100 per child per day. Payment will automatically post to your account when you sign up and is due by February 6th. Let us know if you have any questions!

Activity: FIELD TRIP to the CLAYROOM in Brookline. Kids will choose a piece of pottery to paint (then glazed and fired).

- Wednesday: WHALE OF A TIME! We’re learning about the largest mammals in the world…whales!

Lunch: Grilled Cheese, Chips, and Fruit

- Friday: IT’S A SLEEP UNDER! Ahh, it’s the end of the week…let’s just chill.

Looking ahead a little, we have our official date for our world famous PEDP Trivia night! 🎉
SAVE THE DATE for TRIVIA NIGHT! Join us on Friday, May 1, at the Neighborhood Club for an adults-only evening packed with laughs, friendly competition, and community fun. Whether you’re a trivia whiz or just in it for the good times, this favorite PEDP fundraiser is always a crowd-pleaser.
Our planning team is hard at work—so lock in a babysitter from 6:00–10:00 PM, start brushing up on those random facts, and get ready for a great night out. More details coming soon… you won’t want to miss this!
As a reminder: Please do NOT drive into the driveway, even partway, to park and pick up your child. This is for the safety of all of our children, families and staff. Share this with all of your authorized pick-up people. Especially since we’ve had so much snow, it makes this space all the more susceptible to danger.
