PEDP Families,
We are off and running! With 3 weeks under our belt, the Minnows, Barracudas and Sharks are enjoying the PEDP activities and socializing with old and new friends! Many are happy to see the return of Miss Laurie P. and the addition of Mr. Mike in the Barracudas. The other new teacher we had hired didn’t work out so we are on the lookout again for another teacher to join our team–let us know if you have someone in mind!
Early Release Thursday, October 7th
The Barracudas and Sharks will be taking their first field trip of the year to Castle Island in Boston next week. If your child is in one of these groups and is enrolled for Early Release Thursdays, you can sign him/her up for the trip through the portal. The cost of the trip is $20. The Minnows will be enjoying a Fall Fest event back at Peirce.
Weather
The weather is very changeable this time of year! We go by the “feels like” temperature when deciding what children need to wear to go outside! If it feels like 59 degrees or below, your students will need a second layer of clothing such as a sweatshirt or jacket. Please remind them to pack one in the morning as they will not be able to go outside without one.
Dismissal
All students must stop inside at the dismissal door (Door #3) and wait to be acknowledged by the PEDP staff member there before leaving the building. Our dismissal policy requires us to record the time a child is picked up as well as who picked them up and the teacher who dismissed them. We know that your children are excited to share their day with you and we appreciate your help to make sure they check out at the door.
Needed for Projects
Miss Kim is in need of milk/juice jug caps. Got any?
Ski/Snowboard Program
Many parents keep asking about this program. We are still waiting to hear if Nashoba Valley can accommodate our group and also if we can secure transportation. We will email within the next week to let you know whether or not this program is a go. Watch your email!
NO SCHOOL OR PEDP on Monday, October 11th in observance of Indigenous People’s Day.
Happy leaf peeping!
