Early Birds Teacher

Ms. Joanne earned her Bachelors of Science in Early Education from Roger Williams College in Bristol, RI.  With a deep commitment to our program, students and staff, Ms. Joanne brings a wealth of information to us and has been an integral part of the PEDP team since 1989.  Some of her favorite times at PEDP are spent cooking, crafting and sewing with the kids.  In her leisure time, she also enjoys counted cross-stitch, reading, watching television, and spending time with family and friends.  She is also a big NASCAR fan!

Dylan Kelley

Early Birds Teacher

Barracudas Teacher

Hey Everyone!

My name is Dylan and I’m more than excited to be working here!  I’m 21 years-old, a 2015 graduate of Newton North High School, and I LOVE basketball!  In fact, come this winter, I may be talking your child into playing in the recreational league at the Boys and Girls Club.  I’m young, filled with as much energy as the children here, and I want to make a positive impact on everyone and everything that crosses my path.

I look forward to getting to know everybody throughout the year!

Laurie Filreis

Barracudas Teacher

With a B.S. degree from  Sargent College, Ms. Laurie F. joined the PEDP family after being asked to sub in the program six years ago, but we wouldn’t let her leave!  She’s an avid sports enthusiast that enjoys running, skiing, tennis and biking.  Sharing her love of skiing with the kids is one of her favorite things to do at PEDP.  Watching the kids learn and succeed is so rewarding!  A real people person, Ms. Laurie also loves spending time with her family and many friends… almost as much as she loves CHOCOLATE!

Carol Yourman

Barracudas Teacher

This is Ms. Carol’s first year at PEDP.  She comes to us with a B.A. from Hampshire College and is working on her Master’s in Education from Wheelock.  She is thrilled to say that her daughter just graduated from Hampshire as well! Her focus at Wheelock was in Special Education and Drama.  She has worked with the Wheelock Family Theater and a theater program in Cambridge – Beyond the Fourth Wall. Previously, Carol taught video production and produced educational videos, as well as producing her own independent documentaries. Carol has 3 daughters and loves spending time with them and her whole extended family. In her free time, she loves going to the beach and hiking, and seeing plays and documentaries, and salsa dancing.
